What makes me so happy about this one? You'll come to know when I show you what's inside this.. So c'mon..lets open it..

Wow...I'm soo happy and proud to show you this as I won this in a give away.. Yes ..I was the winner in Mary's Needle n thread when she announced one give away to celebrate her renovated website.. And this is what I ordered from Hedgehog Handworks for $50.

This is cotton floche.. I just love the colours and now I own 33 colours of them.. Aren't they beautiful??

As you can see this is a small and handy hoop which I can carry anywhere.. the finishing is excellent..
After all the confusions which was caused due to my very common name, I somehow recieved my gift and I'm soo happy about winning these..I would like to thank Mary for all the pains she took in sorting out everything and making me a winner.. Thanks Mary..for everything..

Some old memories..

You may be wondering what old memories I'm going to share with you here... About my schooldays... Nothing so interesting about that. But when it comes to needlework I always remember those old days and a piece of cloth we used to get from school to learn embroidery stitches. So you may be thinking that I started learning embroidery from my school days.. Na..na..na. We were only given those clothes and we used to wait for the needle work classes with great enthusiasm only to find another subject teacher taking that class..
It was the problem with Indian education system those days.. According to the curriculum all the activities were included for us to learn but we hardly learned anything.. Those classes were taken by the subject teachers because it was more exam and mark oriented..

I think this situation has changed now.. as I have a small girl going to school I find a lot of difference in their schooling..

Well anyway its not what I want to discuss.. How did I come into the world of embroidery again..Life was getting boring here and I wanted to do something creative.. I searched the web and somehow landed in a site - Needle n Thread .. by Mary Corbet.. Its an excellent site worth vsiting where she maintains a very good video library of stitches.. I was in wonderland.. my hands started itching.. My husband supported me and I started stitching.. learning slowly.. and the process still going on.. So this post is actually to thank Ms. Mary Corbet, whom many of you are very familiar with, for the wonderful website and all her efforts taken for the many like me..

Do you have any similar experiences? Either in school or as an embroider? Is there anybody who inspired you like that? Please feel free to comment..
